Well Known & Simple Providers

If you don’t have an OpenID yet, here are a few which are generally recommended by various members of the community. In the end you should choose a Provider from a company which you trust. We realize this list isn’t perfect and plan to evolve it into a more useful tool. If you’re curious about the technology behind various providers, you can look at a guide comparing provider feature sets.

  • myID.net

Free OpenID Provider with support for groups and Korean language.

  • myVidoop

Free OpenID Provider that eliminates passwords with security features, customization, and browser integration.

All Providers

For a list of more OpenID Providers, check the list on the wiki. We don’t make any guarantees about the providers listed, though most are quite good.

Roll Your Own

Of course, you can always use your own URI, blog URL, website, etc as your OpenID. Delegation is the simplest way to get up and running with OpenID and Sam Ruby wrote a great tutorial. Delegation requires nothing more than an OpenID Provider and some basic HTML. If you’re wanting to host your own OpenID Provider, you’ll also need some coding experience. phpMyID is a simple open source PHP script that lets you fully host your own Provider. If you’re wanting to do something more complex, check out our page on OpenID for Developers.

How to prevent keylogger from stealing your information

How to prevent keylogger from stealing your information

If our computer or laptop has an antivirus installed and it is updated from time to time, chances of our system being penetrated by keyloggers are pretty much low. Perhaps you might come across this term previously but for those who don't, keylogger or "keystroke logger" is a rather nasty tool used primarily to invade into our sensitive information by collecting every single stroke made on our keyboard. As mentioned earlier, this is not really a big issue if you are using your own computer, but the chance of falling into keylogger's trap is relatively high when you are computer at public area especially at a internet cafe.

Here are 2 method that can be used to effectively eliminate the attempt made keyloggers to register our strokes.

1. Neo’s Safekeys

Neo’s Safekeys is a really small program (merely 8kb) yet effective. Simply click on the letters and it types the character into the white box at the bottom. Then you can drag the password into the password field for your email or paypal or whatever form you are trying to access. It's a perfect solution.

Here are few more advantages of using this small program. The utility changes width and height each time, as well as its placement on the screen (to fool mouse-loggers, buttons will always be in different positions each time you use the program) with no data stored and it's completely FREE.

2. Online Keyboard

Alternatively you may use Online Keyboard (javascript) which work the same way as Neo’s Safekeys. Virtual Keyboard is the great thing when you can't install or use additional keyboard layouts bundled with your OS. For example, you're at the internet cafe where only En/US layout is available and you want to write some letters to your Russian, Korean, Japanese or any other friends. Yes, you can just transliterate your writing, but this will take much more time than you ever expect and makes reading boring.

This is the case to have the VirtualKeyboard installed on a site: you just open it and begin typing. Virtual keyboard will do the translation/transliteration job for you on the fly. The same goes to the search engines, forums, webmail systems and much other online and offline applications. It makes a sense, to integrate tiny app there and make life easier for you and your customers.

These two methods will help you in providing more secured environment for you to do your mundane jobs even at new place. Happy surfing!

Add Technorati Authority button to your blog

Add Technorati Authority button to your blog

Introduction

TechnoratiTechnorati is a search engine focused on tracking blogs. According to their about page, they currently tracking 112.8 million blogs and over 250 million pieces of tagged social media.

Technorati Authority is the number of blogs joined Technorati linking to a website. The higher the number, the more Technorati Authority the blog has. It is important to note that they measure the number of blogs, rather than the number of links. So, if a blog links to your blog many times, it still only count as +1 toward your authority.

How to add

The result after adding the code is something like this (it is not my Technorati Authority lol):

Both Blogger and Wordpress users can add this button easily by using HTML widget. Yes, use HTML widget whenever you want to add some html code to your blog.

Paste the code below to your widget and you are done. Ah, remember change to text in blue to your link ;) (do not use mine, it is a small number lol )

ffb.ceoxi.com?sub=tr_authority_t_ns’ style=’color:#4261DF’>View blog authority

Hint: you should not add it when your authority is too low :P . I show my number to write this tutorial only hahaha

Bonus

It is better when we also put a button to get readers add your blog to their favourites.

The code is below (in case you want to add). Remember to change my link to yours.

http://themelib.com“>”Add

The final result in my blog is

ThemeLib Technorati Authority widget

Look great, huh ? You can test it by adding my blog to your favourites. I am very appreciate :)
